Reflections – Week 6 (Whirlwind 🌪️)

Health & Safety, Management Systems, Reflections, Weekly Round Up

This week at LCS Project Solutions has been a whirlwind of activity, representing our commitment to the Plan, Do, Check, Act cycle across diverse projects.  Here is a snapshot of our progress:

Plan: Our week began with meticulous planning, ensuring we were aligned with our clients’ needs and project goals. This involved:

  • Planning various site compliance inspections, including a special visit to Woburn Abbey and Hampton Court Palace as well as new build projects.
  • Preparing for a specialist noise and vibration survey and forthcoming project planning for a client.
  • Initiating the development of a Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) for a solar field development.
  • Planning intelligence gathering to assist a client in optimising their service provision.
  • Preparing a lifting plan for windmill sail replacement.

Do: We put our plans into action, tackling a variety of challenges and opportunities:

  • Monday:Conducted site compliance inspections, including the special inspection at Woburn Abbey, and welcomed a new associate to the team with comprehensive onboarding.  We also visited our client’s joinery workshop.
  • Tuesday:Supported a client during a noise and vibration survey conducted by a specialist arranged by LCS, while also assisting with forthcoming project planning. Our team also started developing a CEMP for a solar field development.
  • Wednesday:Gathered intelligence for a client, exploring ways to enhance their systems and service provision.  We also prepared a lifting plan for windmill sail replacement and continued developing the CEMP.
  • Thursday:Conducted multiple site visits for clients with diverse needs, including new builds and historic sites, Hampton Court Palace!
  • Friday:Focused on administrative tasks and additional site visits, including a fascinating temporary theatre project utilising sustainable techniques and a 12-house development commissioned by a housing association.

Check: Throughout the week, we continuously monitored our progress, identifying areas of success and opportunities for improvement:

  • Assessed the effectiveness of our site compliance inspections and onboarding process.
  • Evaluated the initial stages of the CEMP development and the noise and vibration survey.
  • Reviewed the intelligence gathered to ensure it aligns with the client’s needs.
  • Analysed site visit findings to address client concerns effectively.
  • Confirmed the sustainability of the temporary theatre building and alignment with housing association goals.

Act: Based on our observations, we are ready to refine our approach and implement improvements:

  • Optimising site compliance inspection processes based on findings from Woburn Abbey and other sites.
  • Adjusting the CEMP development based on initial progress and client feedback.
  • Implementing strategies to enhance the client’s systems and service provision.
  • Applying lessons learned from diverse site visits to improve future projects.
  • Sharing insights from the sustainable theatre project to promote similar initiatives.

Conclusion:

It has been a busy but productive week for LCS Project Solutions.  We are proud of our team’s dedication to delivering exceptional results for our clients.  Now, it is time to take a breath and celebrate our achievements, as well as those of our clients!
