The Longest Day

As the summer solstice marks the longest day of the year, our team at LCS Project Solutions embraced the extended daylight with energy, resilience, and a dash of adventure.  This week’s diary captures not just our commitment to excellence, but also how we make the most of every moment, on and off the clock.

Monday: Peaks, Pedals, and Progress

One of our team members kicked off the week in style, conquering the legendary Alp d’Huez on a Brompton Electric, fully kitted out and making the most of the exhilarating descent!  Meanwhile, the rest of the team stayed grounded, focusing on fire risk assessments, a HARP Phase 3 site inspection tour, and essential CDM Tracker updates.

The spirit of the solstice, pushing boundaries and embracing new challenges was alive and well.

Tuesday: From Alpine Dawn to Le Shuttle Dusk

Tuesday began with an early departure from the Alps, embarking on a 750-mile journey back to base via the Le Shuttle.  Along the way, we admired the efficiency of French roadworks, an inspiration for keeping projects moving smoothly.  Back at headquarters, we launched Day 1 of the CITB SMSTS Refresher for our partners at MS Associates and caught up on vital admin tasks.

Wednesday: Catch-Ups and New Horizons

Midweek meant catching up on emails and calls for our intrepid traveler, while the rest of the team continued with Day 2 of the SMSTS Refresher and other client tasks.  We also confirmed details for an exciting new project opportunity.

Thursday: Onboarding, Inspections, and Efficient Execution

Thursday brought more catch-ups, client onboarding with Monday.com, and SSiP compliance work.  A site inspection at a historic building and a productive design team meeting rounded out the day.  Our use of Monday.com continues to help clients track compliance requirements with clarity and ease, ensuring performance gaps are minimised.

Friday: Solstice Spirit and Site Success

As one team member set off for a well-deserved solstice weekend in Cornwall, complete with running and family time, the rest of the crew stayed focused on client management system reviews, site compliance tours, and preparations for a major concrete pour at A&S Motors.  With 14 loads and two lorries rotating every 15 minutes planned for Saturday, Lee will be on hand to check progress and deliver breakfast.

Mission accomplished—what a week!

“The summer solstice reminds us to make the most of every hour.  This week, we stretched the daylight and our capabilities, delivering for clients and ourselves.”
