Listening with Intent and Delivering with Purpose
Our intention for Week 4 was to listen with intent and deliver on expectations, our clients’ and our own. We remained focused, understood the week’s demands, and created the momentum needed to deliver.
Newton’s Second Law of Motion tells us that force equals mass multiplied by acceleration (F = ma). I’ve found this to be a fitting metaphor for how LCS Project Solutions operates: our mass is the focused attention we give to client needs, and our acceleration reflects the momentum our clients build as they strive for progress. Together, this creates the force behind every success we deliver.
Monday: Observations and Improvements
The week began early in the beautiful city of Oxford, where we carried out a health and safety compliance inspection for a stone restoration project at one of the oldest centres of learning in the city. This important work safeguards the building’s future for generations to come.
From there, we travelled south to a very different type of site, one that blends sustainable materials with traditional craftsmanship and modern technology. We observed the real-time assembly of a frame built under a bespoke Safe System of Work we helped design. The goal, to identify improvements during the erection phase and refine our system further.
Closer to home, we conducted compliance inspections and began developing a site-based operational control management system for a valued client. At the same time, we finalised an ISO 9001 framework ready for client presentation, an exciting milestone for both parties.
Tuesday: Deep Office Focus
Tuesday was a productive office-based day, as the team concentrated on system development and deliverables:
- Issuing the ISO 9001 framework
- Continuing operational control system development
- Developing ITPs via a new client portal
- Assisting clients with their SSIP obligations
Wednesday: Red Squirrels and Rain
Amid Storm Chandra’s downpours and rising water levels, Leon caught the ferry to Cowes and cycled along the River Medina to Newport, a true demonstration of dedication. The highlight? Spotting a native red squirrel during the ride, a rare and rewarding sight.
While Leon braved the elements, the rest of the team stayed warm and focused indoors, continuing their system development work with coffee close at hand.
Thursday and Friday: Warm, Dry, and Driven
With no site inspections scheduled, the latter half of the week allowed concentrated progress on ongoing projects:
- Advancing client system development and verification form building using Monday.com
- Providing tailored project compliance advice
- Refining Safe System of Work arrangements
- Completing essential end-of-month administrative tasks
A constructive and well-paced end to a busy and fulfilling week.
Closing Thought
Each action we take today shapes tomorrow’s success. By staying intentional, consistent, and focused, we ensure that momentum, both ours and our clients’, continues to build.
