This week, a poem caught our ear, “Remember Me” by David Darkins. We have adapted it slightly to mirror our own reflections on the week just passed, one of connection and gratitude, both direct and indirect, through the stories shared by others.
You can lament that they are gone,
Or you can smile because they have been present.
You can close your eyes and wish they would return,
Or you can open your eyes and see all they have left behind.
Your outlook can be empty because you cannot see them,
Or it can be full of gratitude for the connections you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live in yesterday,
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of the bonds made yesterday.
You can remember only that they are gone,
Or you can cherish the moments and move forward.
You can regret, close your mind, and turn away,
Or you can choose another path, smile, open your eyes, and take the next step.
To our week!
It’s been a busy and fulfilling few days. We have carried out a great mix of site visits, chatting with managers and trades alike as part of our compliance inspections. We have delivered formal SMSTS training and tailored toolbox talks for a client’s manufacturing team. We have reconnected with clients over the phone and in person, and with a few coffees along the way.
Alongside that, we have handled key administration tasks, discussed expanding services with existing clients, and arranged potential new partnerships to explore shared opportunities. We have also supported a client with tender submissions and pre-qualification questionnaires, collaborating closely on planning details. Phew!
Outside the office, one of the team visited the University of Bath Faculty of Design & Engineering for the Winter Mentoring Evening. After the event, a catch up with a former student over supper and hearing how he is getting on in the world of work. Ace!
