Reflections – Week 28

Reflections, Weekly Round Up

Plan

With the summer sun shining, our week began with clear intentions and a focus on both heritage and contemporary projects. We set out to:

  • Mentor future leaders through NEBOSH NC1 sessions, sharing knowledge and building capability.
  • Tackle vital administrative tasks, ensuring our clients’ risk assessments and safe systems of work are robust and up to date.
  • Prepare for a series of site visits, balancing the demands of historic and modern environments.

Do

Our team put plans into action across a diverse portfolio:

  • Monday: Delivered NEBOSH mentoring (with a working lunch!) and advanced essential admin and risk assessment development.  We also continued our duties as employers agent at the Bury Cross Garage redevelopment project, the finish line is ever so close!
  • Tuesday: Conducted compliance inspections at two iconic heritage sites, the Tower of London and Woburn Abbey.  It’s a privilege to bring our expertise to such historic settings.
  • Wednesday: Supported preconstruction planning at a historic tide mill (waders required!), followed by compliance inspections at a contemporary new build and a Grade 2 listed cottage, highlighting the contrast between old and new.
  • Thursday: Worked alongside clients to refine production practices in their workshops.  Later, we completed a final inspection at a Georgian mansion, securing its future for the next century, before collaborating with design teams on preconstruction information for another heritage project.
  • Friday: Shifted focus to contemporary work, developing safe systems and risk assessments for clients, and supporting teams committed to continuous improvement.

Check

Throughout the week, we reviewed our progress against objectives:

  • Heritage projects were delivered with meticulous attention to compliance, ensuring the preservation of historic sites while meeting modern safety standards.
  • Contemporary projects benefited from our structured approach, with risk assessments and safe systems evolving to meet clients’ changing needs.
  • Client feedback remained positive, reflecting satisfaction with our proactive support and expertise across both heritage and modern projects.

Act

We are committed to continuous improvement:

  • Lessons learned from heritage inspections inform our approach to contemporary projects, and vice versa.
  • We will continue to blend tradition with innovation, ensuring every project, whether centuries-old or brand new, receives the same dedication to safety, compliance, and quality.
  • Our team remains energised by the unique challenges and rewards of working at the intersection of history and progress.

The juxtaposition of heritage works, and contemporary projects is at the heart of what we do at LCS Project Solutions Ltd.   Each week, we are reminded that preserving the past and building for the future go hand in hand, driven by the same ethos: Plan, Do, Check, Act.
